About me

Dr. Adam Lim Chee Ooi

Business Director at RISE Advisory; Seahorse Adicionado; Children’s Book Author; Coffee Fueled Husband, Father & Son.

I started in the academic and animal conservation field. More commonly known as Dr Seahorse, I have been prominent in the scientific world through my research, public outreach and advocacy work. Upon the completion of my PhD journey, I was presented with an opportunity where I can put my skills to fill a gap in the life insurance industry.

Stepping foot into the life insurance planning industry with research analytical skill opens up many opportunities to fill existing gaps. Aside from the usual financial planning, and advisory role, the most rewarding usage of my skill is the opportunity to assist some Malaysians, young and senior, with certain health conditions to be insured.

In a short period, I achieved my promotion (6 months) and satisfyingly, awarded as the Champion for Manulife Every Day Better Maker Award 2020 for Malaysia in recognition of my services to my clients. More importantly, I managed to establish financial stability and job security which not too long ago seems distant. This has also allowed me time (and finance) to work on my research passion on seahorses without the previous worries.

Moving forward, I am determined to return the favour presented to me by assisting fellow graduates to carve out their opportunities. I am building a team of business partners where we can each use our natural gifts and acquired skills to carve a name for themselves. Join me and let us work together, drop me a direct message or email me.
